Glenson Hudson began the way the best ideas usually do — over a long coffee between friends who couldn't find what they were actually looking for. What started as a conversation has grown into a quietly devoted community of British women who believe that getting dressed for the moments that matter shouldn't have to mean compromise — or a designer price tag.

We chose the name Glenson Hudson for a reason. Glenson Hudson mark the point in the year British life starts to feel hopeful again — the first warm Sunday in May, the wedding invitation that lands in the post, the holiday written into the calendar back in February. That's the spirit we wanted to carry through everything in the shop.

Our Story

It started with three friends in their forties, all running into the same frustrating problem. The fashion industry, they realised, had quietly stopped designing for women like them.

Too trendy. Too tight. Too expensive. Too short for the church. Too matronly when it tried not to be.

They wanted pieces that worked for the actual diary — a niece's wedding in the Cotswolds, a hen weekend in Bath, a long-awaited week in Italy, the Sunday lunch that runs on until the evening. Clothes that fit, that held up after more than three washes, that made them feel like themselves without having to perform.

So they decided to build it themselves.
